Dark The Watch Tv Series

Small town, missing children, mysterious caves that connect the forest with the nuclear plant on which the work of most of the inhabitants depend. Dark is a sci-fi thriller produced in Germany by dwatchseries and is a great premiere for a year that we were already finished.

Treinta and three years passed to repeat the story. As at that time, in a town where not much usually happens, disappear in a matter of days a teenager and a child, while the body of a strangely mutilated third appears. One of the most interested in solving the mystery is a policeman who (in a challenge to bad luck) is the father of the last disappeared as well as the brother of the child who did not know anything since the eighties.

But he's not the only one. The adolescent, tormented by the guilt of having lost sight of the child that night, discovers hidden -among the things of his recently deceased father- an extensive investigation into the caves that run through the village below.

Suspecting that these caves are the center of all the mystery -for some moments before the disappearance they heard strange noises coming out of them- he becomes obsessed with interpreting the maps and exploring the tunnels on his own, helped by the clues given by a tramp who seems be the only one to know what is happening.

It's not such a strange thing

The town of Dark thewatchseries looks like several others where similar mysteries happen that in a larger city would go unnoticed or, at least, would not cause the same impact on all its inhabitants. Bringing together missing children with scenes in the eighties, and a small town dominated by a sector where you can not enter because there is a half turbid, it is easy to compare with Stranger Things , but the reality is that the similarities do not go beyond that phrase. In this world there is almost no humor or pop references ; instead there are a ton of characters with sins hidden throughout three eras and even a serial serial killer, so the general climate deserves more to be compared to The Killing orBroadchurch that with the series of fashion guys.

It is not a very new addition to the genre and in fact repeats several classic places of this kind of stories, with situations or characters that sound from other series or movies; but Dark finds a way to keep us trapped throughout a season without a lot of stuffing (which could also last some less).

With the passage of the chapters it becomes more difficult to follow the thread to so many characters, especially when they begin to have two or even three different faces depending on when we are watching the story. Dark seems to be aware of that because it repeatedly presents a wall full of photos, data and connections that help to refresh the memory or discover the identity of a character that escaped us.
